June 25,2012: Intl Au pair Association invitation to Canadian Caregiver agencies

 

Dear Canadian Agencies,

 

The International Au Pair Association’s Executive Board is glad to announce that it will visit Canada in October to host the annual Quality Campaign workshop.
This campaign will be held in cooperation with ACNA Canada – Association of Caregiver & Nanny Agencies Canada and aims to offer structural assistance in the provision of improvements in au pair placements worldwide.

Although Canada does not currently place Au Pairs, recent changes to the Live-in Caregiver Program have necessitated a market expansion which will hopefully include the introduction of Au Pairs under Working Holiday Visas.
Au Pairs could provide an innovative solution to current caregiver challenges across Canada and offer families an alternative to the Live-in Caregiver Program.
With active IAPA members in 45 countries, a real opportunity exists to create a more expansive and multicultural caregiver community for Canadian families.
IAPA is dedicated to actively support the establishment of many new National Au Pair Associations (NAPA’s) in recent years in both sending as well as receiving countries, to increase quality standards in our niche industry.

Changes in economic circumstances, to sending and receiving markets and to visa procedures over the past years have driven the need for international cooperation to ensure the continued high standards of Au Pair programmes.
The IAPA Executive Board launched the 2010 Quality Campaign at the IAPA Annual General Meeting in Miami, USA. Since then, the workshop took place in Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, China, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain and Ireland.
We would like to invite you to take this opportunity and join us to share your experience about the Au Pair industry and support driving the business forward.
The workshop will be sponsored by IAPA and it’s free to attend for both members and non-members of IAPA.

The session will begin with a presentation, followed by farewell drinks and a hosted networking dinner in the evening.
The session, the drinks and the networking dinner will all be sponsored by IAPA.
The workshop will take place in Toronto on Saturday 20 October 2012.
